We check the gas regulator performance, the condition and date of any flexible hose (renewing as required), the security of all pipework & gas bottles, the visibility & condition of the LPG sticker on the gas locker, gas dispersal holes for obstructions and we carry out a full gas leak test. We check the gas operation of the cooker, hob and oven, water heater, space heating system, and the operation and condition of any external gas point, before doing a full flame failure safety test on all appliances and a CO room test. We fully check the fridge for gas operation but only service it if requested.
Electrical Systems 240v
We check the condition of the inlet plug and hook up cable (when available for inspection), the operation of RCD, MCB’s and earth bonding, the condition & security of all wiring, sockets and fixed connections, the operation of the battery charger, and the mains operation of the fridge, cooker, hob, water heater and space heater.
Electrical Systems 12v
We check the condition & functioning of the habitation side of the 12v system (on board leisure battery charging, fuses, sockets, fridge etc), the condition of the on board leisure battery itself (cleaning & lubricating the terminals etc), the operation of all interior 12v lights – including awning light – and the blown air part of the heating system if fitted.
Fire and safety
We check the condition of security, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, the condition, type and expiry date of any fire extinguisher, the condition and location of any fire blanket and the operation, function and safety of any DIY additions.
Not covered??
It has been our experience that there is often confusion at a service as to what is covered and what is not covered, hence our detail above. For instance, whilst we check all appliances for full functionality, we don’t service individual appliances unless requested to do so.
However, if, whilst doing the service as above, we find a problem with an appliance or accessory etc, or pick up a concern about damp damage or, for instance, a door hinge etc etc, this will be fully reported and we can quote to return and do a repair.
